What is your money worth?

I’ve been pretty quiet lately. Part of it is due to a large project that has been under development since half a year ago. It will still take probably another 3 months before it could be release. I mentioned before that this is probably going to be something along the magnitude of iPhone being introduced to the world a year ago. What I am going to introduce to the IM world is a completely new platform that will surpass anything that you have ever seen or not seen :) It will give you the ability to do many creative ways of Internet Marketing without the technical mumbo-jumbo :) There are probably many tools that says this before but none of it will come even close to what I am going to bring to IM world in the next few months time.

Anyway, today’s post is on something less IM related. Early this year, there has been many incidents that happened and collectively they made up my worst beginning of a year in my entire life. So it was extremely challenging time I ever had and trust me, it was not easy at all. Imagine 1 of those problem would be very bad, and then imagine having around 4 to 5 of those coming at once. I am known to be a very optimistic and positive person but with such huge amount of problems being pushed down my throat, I can tell ya, it is not easy to stay positive. I find myself hard to believe that I could be in such situation as well. Maybe life has been kind to me all these while?

What I have also learned from this whole thing that I want to share with you is this.

The value of the money you have is not determined by its monetary value, rather it is determined by how and whom you spent it with.

Let me explain. Imagine this, if you spend $100 alone compare to spending $100 with someone you love and care, which is worth more to you? So, no matter how much you make, remember, it will only worth a lot only if you spend it with people you love and care. Whether you like it or not, believe it or not, the main reason why we are trying hard to make money today is because of them (our love ones).

I will still be actively making money online, and sharing my knowledge and empower as many people as I can with the ability to make money online but remember, when you do make money, share it with people you care and love. It makes this whole thing so much more meaningful. :)

IMGuerilla - Prelude

Its been a little over 12 months that I have been into this Internet Marketing world.

Prior to Internet Marketing, I was a lecturer and ran my own web development business. It was nothing much to shout about but I was the youngest lecturer in my college and it was fun! :) Web development has always been what I like to do since age of 14. I was just like anyone else during school. I did not do very well in school but I graduated top of my course (major Software Engineering) for my first degree. This is probably due to the fact that I studied what I love and not what I have to. I have to thank my brother who exposed me to the existance of Mr Bill Gates and why being a millionaire is a worthy goal. From age of around 15-17 onwards, I have set my mind to achieve my first million and first billion by age of 25 and 35 respectively. I think that was what changes my mindset. From dreaming the impossible to DOING the impossible. I believe that many times people were not able to achieve what they want is because of their mindset. Their mindset enclosed all possibilities. Who says you can’t do business at young age? Who says you must have lots of money to begin with? Who says ____ ? Its all in YOUR HEAD! :)

I don’t come from a rich family, nor am I given lots of money to begin with. But my dad make sure that he provide my bro and I the best education he can afford. I am very thankful for that. And my mom made sure that everything else is taken care of. So I won’t tell you how bad or poor of a condition I came from. I would say I came from family that is doing just averagely OKAY.

Fast forward to 12 months ago, I remember that I was attending World Internet Summit Malaysia back in November 2006. That was my first exposure to Internet Marketing. The night I left the last day of the event, I went into action immediately to start my first project, Adsense Blackhat Edition. This site pulls in over 5,000 subscriber and $10k in sales on the first month of launch! And that is without any “GURU” connection nor prior experience. In May 2007, I’ve attended World Internet Mega Summit Singapore and I signed up with Mike Filsaime’s i5Gold Mentoring program. Again, I took action immediately and the idea of SendUsTo.US firesale was conceived. We pulled in over $69,000 in 7 days. I’ve also pulled in $25,000 in 24 hours on another launch after that. October 2007, I shared my experience in Internet Millionaire Incubator, Singapore. And finally in November 2007, I am back at the very first Internet Marketing event which I have attended 12 months ago, World Internet Summit Malaysia, not as an attendee, but as a featured speaker!

Yes its been a crazy ride for the last 12 months but one thing for sure, I was never happier! But this shows you one thing, you don’t have to be a genius, expert, has lots of experience or even huge connection to be successful in Internet Marketing.

Which also lead me to initiate a project with Edmund Loh. This project is called IMGuerilla. The main objective of IMGuerilla is to empower any marketer, from beginners to advance, the necessary and essential information to succeed in Internet Marketing. And we are delivering this to your doorstep. IMGuerilla will be THE SILVER BULLET. We want to empower YOU with the right information to make 2008, your year of FREEDOM!

Please do go to http://imguerilla.com and check out the comic that we have came up with :)

Internet Millionaire Incubator 2 Flashback

Pheww, finallly pulled it off. Overall it was an excellent experience. Nervous for the 1st minute and then it was all okay. Time flew real fast though. Wish I could have more time to present. There were many positive feedbacks from people and also couple of feedbacks which will help me to improve myself. There was one comment left on my blog about me asking the audience if they were willing to sacrifies 20 hours of work a day to achieve the success that I have. Well I do know that not everyone will be able to do that. But I don’t mean that the audience should take it literally rather its about you getting out of your comfort zone and go all out to achieve what you say you want to achieve. Many people often says that they want success and rich but thats all they ever do. And when things fail, they will find 101 reason to that. Or they will give themselves reason to fail. :)

Here are some photos of me onstage and offstage.

Thanks to Kelvin Yeo for presentation tips. It was excellent stuff. Also thanks to Dennis Sim, Khai, Edmund Loh and all the people that make this happen! :)

Next up will be World Internet Summit Malaysia!

I’ve been doing a lot of re-planning and re-thinking of my entire IM business ever since I got back from San Francisco. I’ve spoken to a few people and it has got me thinking. I shall tell you a bit more soon but for now I just want to share with you what Mike Filsaime personally shared with me, “Do Not Get Addicted to Making Money”. Go figure ;)

I’ve Made It To The US!

Yes! I am now writing this from Airport Marriott San Francisco with Gobala and Melvin. The experience so far was great except for the jet-lag part. We are sleeping and waking up at all the wrong time. I will keep the flying experience next time. But just to keep this short and sharing with you guys some photos taken :)

Overall it has been great and this is just day 1 of the event and there’s much more to come. Tomorrow it will be a whole day with Keith Wellman, David Cavanagh, Harris Fellman, Simon Leung and many more!

The only set back so far was that Overture seems to have pulled off the data from displaying in their keyword tool which has let to breakdown of KeywordAnywhere. It couldn’t have happen at the worst possible time. 24 hours after Kelvin and I launched it! Gosh! But we are working out the solution already and will have something even better coming up within the next 10 to 14 days. So if you have bought it, sorry about the problem but we assure you it will be fixed and you will be well rewarded for staying with us :)

Biggest Firesale just over with $60,000 in sales

Yes the event just over. And this event was really taking a lot out of me. Working almost like 20 hours daily for last 2 weeks! We moved the event forward by 1 week earlier actually. The reason is that initially Eric Rockefeller suppose to have a big launch on 31st. And we did not want to be overshadowed other launches, especially it involves Eric Rockefeller which I personally respect a lot.

So bringing this event forward gives us only 1 week time to pull in JV partners! Yes 1 week! So I had think out of the box and go wayyyy flat out and figure out how we can achieve the amount of JV partners we wanted. Initially we say alright, we will have about 80 JV partners. But in the end I told both of them that we need to ramp up this target because we have come this far and spend so much time into this, we should just go for homerun. So the target changed to 150 JV Partners which we achieved in just 7 days. I cracked my head and found several out of the box method that allow me to recruit a lot more JV partners in shorter time :)

So after JV recruitment, we were preparing all the accounts and triple check every single aspect of the launch.

On launch day, 3 of us gather at Gobala house along with Edmund Loh and Khai. Had a small party to celebrate the launch but we couldn’t party until 2 hours after launch because the server was swamp with too much traffic!! We had like 300 to 500 visitors at any one time and considering we have over 100 graphics on the sales page, this did not help at all. Immediately we moved all graphics over to Gobala’s server. And I also contacted my server company to upgrade the package immediately which will gives us double the amount of ram and resources. That did not help, the company moved the account into an isolated server but we were still having problems serving the downloads. On second day we ordered another dedicated server and moved all downloads to the new server. So on 3rd day we had 3 different servers to serve SendUsTo.US, 1 server for the sales copy and members area, 1 server for images and 1 server for files download. Lesson learned. Never save up on hosting. Its better to get a powerful dedicated server for that period of time just for the launch and then downgrade the site to normal hosting later :)

Sales was good. We got about 400 sales in Day 1! WOW! double WOW in fact. Our honest target was about 700 sales. So we were about 60% to our target in 1 day. 6 Days to go. On day 2, we were expecting much lower sale, maybe about 50% of day 1. But instead, we were almost matching day 1’s sale! So 2 days and we almost hit 800 sales. Target achieved. Day 3 to Day 5 is extremely low. Around 100+ sales each day. But we did ran a 24 hours affiliate contest to spice up things a little.

On Day 6, sales shot up by 50% compare to the day before. The last minute buyers start kicking in. We see that our partners and affiliates started to push for the last 48 hours. On Day 7, we manage to do over 200 sales. In total, we made over 1,400 sales and raked in $60,000 in revenue. It was single largest project that 3 of us have done.

Now the bad news is, my PayPal has been “LIMITED”. I did inform PayPal in advance prior to the launch but they still need further verification which I have provided. We are progressing but I hope it won’t take long as I heard some horror stories that it takes up to months!

Overall I’ve learned a lot and new mental barriers have been broken :) Thank you everyone for your support!

So next thing is now getting the VISA to travel to US to be approved! :)
